Beer Inspired By Art at the Portland Art Museum
Making art, making beer and drinking beer are creative acts that bring people together and celebrate community, why not have them together? Portland-based artist Eric Steen wants to change all this; he has created an event that combines art with the experience of drinking beer. He invited Lompoc, Laurelwood, and Lucky Lab Breweries in Portland, Oregon to receive a tour of the museum, select an artwork, and use that artwork as inspiration to make a new beer.

The last meeting of the Draught Board 15 at the Gaslight was a very good one. It was a little different this month due to Mothers Day. The DB15 regularly meets on the second Sunday of the month. It was a nice relaxed session on a pleasant Sunday Afternoon and a great day for a [...]
A Geek Drinking Stone Levitation Ale
I am not going to talk about this beer like I tasted it for a review. I won’t talk about the great reddish amber color ale that was placed in front of me at the Gaslight Brewery in a regular pint glass. I won’t talk about the immense aroma that came off the glass as [...]

Thank You Deschutes Brewery for the Great Artwork
I know that most breweries pride themselves in the design of their beer labels and artwork. I really have to hand it to Deschutes Brewery with their two recent IPA’s from their Bond Street Series. The artwork shows an investment in the local and an understanding of the social role beer plays in culture. The [...]

Cricket Hill is one of the newer microbreweries in New Jersey. They have been around since 2002. Colonel Blides Cask Ale is one of their flagship beers. A Geek Tasting: Simpler Times Lager brewed by Minhas Craft Brewery
Simpler Times Lager from Trader Joes, brewed by Minhas Craft Brewery, was basically a craft beer Budweiser that did not taste like soap. It is a corn flaked beer or beer with really cheap ingredients that was 6.20 abv% . It was weird to drink after drinking so many well done craft brews. But what [...]
