That's definitely an original name. Of course it is a dry county, much like Bourbon, Kentucky. his is my first time visiting your site. I like the Beer Culture section and how you post beer articles. I just recently posted "Is Stralsund Bailing Out German Beer Culture?" on my blog site www.thegravityflux.com. I thought that you would be interested. The Slate has a good article on “Brauereisterben” in Germany, or "death to breweries"

drinking the sweet potato beer tonight and it's very tasty. No real taste of sweet potato except maybe an aftertaste but very well balanced beer. My personal favorite was this summer when they had the basil beer. I was at an outdoor concert and the whole place smelled of basil. By far one of my favorite beers.

Many cigar smokers like me, enjoy some type of whisky while they smoke, for the smoky, woody characteristics it brings to the table. For something more lively and equally enjoyable, try Allagash’s Curieux, a Belgian-style Tripel (a strong pale ale) brewed in Portland, Me., that has been aged eight weeks in Jim Beam oakwood bourbon barrels. The result is an astounding flavor complex of vanilla, oak, wood, and a light smoked profile. While this beer is 11 percent alcohol content, it is light- to medium-bodied in color and mouth feel. The Curieux complements the Arturo Fuente, which has an Ecuadorean Sumatra wrapper, and binder and filler from the Dominican Republic. Its savory cedar and leather notes come through on the cigar as the beer’s oaky-bourbon flavor meets the peppery smoke.@ISABELLA:)

Though I have never tried Chicha, I understand that the chewing is necessary to convert the starch of the corn into fermentable sugars via amylase. This conversion could be achieved other ways, So it seems to be just a showy/bored attempt at something traditional. I am sure if the ancient Peruvians had figured out a better way, they would not be chewing corn for kicks.
